Review: All For A Sister by:Allison Pittman
About the Book:
In Hollywood during the Roaring Twenties, Celeste DuFrane has it all. Her father's work with color movie film opens doors that lead to the stardom she's always aspired to. But after losing her mother, she discovers that half the estate has been left to a woman accused of killing Celeste's baby sister before Celeste was even born.Dana Lundgren arrives on the steps of the DuFrane mansion having spent most of her life imprisoned for a crime that never happened. After accusing her of murder so many years ago, why did Marguerite DuFrane leave her a sizeable inheritance? As Celeste and Dana learn each other's stories, they come up with more questions than answers. Then a surprising discovery begins to fill in the missing pieces: Marguerite DuFrane's written confession, penned shortly before her death. Uncovering the treachery and deceit that changed the course of countless lives--most of all, their own--the two women find more than they ever dreamed of.
About the Author:
As far as I know, I have always been a writer. Before I could put words to page, I would dictate stories to my mother. I have always lulled myself to sleep by crafting stories--a new chapter each night. When God called me to write, I was thrilled to answer His prompting. And so it was, after a long conversation with my husband, I left a 20-year teaching career to pursue a new direction. It called for a HUGE step of faith, but God has kept me and our family safe.
I count every single one of my readers as one of God's blessings in my life, and I like to think of my stories as being the first step in a conversation. Please visit my website, www.allisonpittman.com and send me an email. It is one of my greatest joys to hear from you!
My Review:
Celeste DuFrane, a talented movie star, feels like she can have it all. To be the lead in a world renowned up coming movie--she is overjoyed at the thought. But after her mother dies she is expected to share her home with a baby-killer. She can't understand why her mother would of done such a thing, something like this in her will it was in her will that this be done. But she keeps asking herself why.
Dana Lundgren, accused of killing an infant, spent most of her life behind bars. After her release she is so new to some many things in society--it is often terrifying to her. Then of all things she finds out that she was named in someones will, but why? Together these two women find the truth and thruth is not at all, what you would expect.
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from Tyndale.

The Red Coats Are Coming! Review
About The Book:
The first of a three-book story arc about the American Revolution, "The Redcoats Are Coming" follows Patrick and Beth as they assist the revolutionaries by waking up the sleeping citizens of 1775 Concord before the Redcoats come. In this adventure, the cousins meet Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock. They help smuggle musket balls, sound the alarm that the Redcoats are coming, and deliver a secret message to Paul Revere. Along the way they learn that most of the revolutionaries leaned on God's direction and even pastors helped in the cause.Christian parents and teachers will appreciate the historical facts as well as the biblical worldview training their kids and students will absorb. The kids will appreciate the excitement and tension of an America at war with England, and in some ways, with itself. A curriculum for Christian schools and homeschool families will be available
My Review:
The Redcoats are coming! The Redcoats are coming! His voice and those individuals that supported his cause rang out in the night. The Patriots were a group of strong, courageous individuals that supported their right to something bigger and were willing to fight for it, no matter the cost.
We have all heard the story of Paul Revere and his cause. He was a very courageous man. He and many others secretly planned to fight because what choice did they have, really? Adventures in Odyssey has created a very well adapted series entitled The Imagination Station. This series of Books goes along the same lines an the Magic Tree House series only if you know anything about AIO you know it's christian based.
Your children will get a good dose of history with God being in the center of it all. The Redcoats are coming tells about Paul Revere and his famous Midnight ride. Causing Beth and Patrick to go back in time and meet many famous people that they have only read about. Paul Revere and John Hanncock to name a few.
Beth and Patrick are actually seated there by Mr. Whit to deliver a letter to the famous Paul Revere, but they get sidetracked.
At the end of each book you are given a hint of what's to come in the next book. The ending of this book finds us in a boat , I wonder where we will go in our nest adventure.

Tender Mercies Review
About The Book:
When Rosie, Carrie, and Grandma are asked to help out at Last Chance Corral, a nursemare foal rescue, Rosie is shocked when she experiences firsthand how cruel some people can be to animals. During the week at Last Chance, the girls learn that the God who knows when a sparrow falls to the ground works through the kindness of others to provide for the animals He created. For the foals, and the girls, Last Chance Corral is a life-changing experience.
Tender Mercies is the fourth book in the Sonrise Stable series, heartwarming stories of an extended homeschooling family as they live, learn, and love together. Mixing adventure, life lessons, and realistic horse experiences, the series is a must for readers who enjoy family values, Christian faith, and, of course, horses!
My Review:
Tender Mercies starts out with the wonderful view from a colt. He has eyes for only his mother and a nice boy that takes care of him. The boy brought the colt and his mother out daily to get exercise and brought them back in at night to keep them safe. But one night the boy is awakened by the sounds of whining horses. He runs to the stall where the colt he named Sparky stood all alone, his mother taken from him. What lays ahead for this poor colt?
Rosie and Carrie watched as Grandma paced back and forth talking on the phone. They begged her steadily to tell them whats going on and when she finally does they barely can contain their excitement. They head out the next day to the Last Chance Corral. A place where horses and foals a like are taken good care of and raised properly. And now Rosie, Carrie, and Grandma will be helping there. The lady that owns the place is getting six new foals, ones of which Rosie and Carrie wants to take home. But they cant, they are here to help her with the new foals she is receiving. But this job isn't all it cracked up to be. Will they make it through this long week or just give up?
About The Author(Vicki Watson's own words):
My love of horses began when a teenage neighbor offered me my first ride, on the back of her horse. From my 8-year-old perspective, it seemed like the biggest horse in the world. From that moment on, I was addicted. Horses were to become a very important part of my life, although I never could have imagined, at the time, how much God would teach me about Himself and my relationship to Him through these wonderful animals. The Sonrise Stable series combines my love of God and horses in stories that I hope will help children learn more about both. I have a vision for ten initial books in the series, taking the main characters through one year. Beyond that I'll see where God leads me. I have been blessed with three daughters and homeschooled each of them through high school. I enjoy trail riding my Rocky Mountain mare, Nikki, hiking, photography, and playing guitar. I work from home as a and computer programmer and enjoy the variety and flexibility that allows.

Still Lolo Review
About The Book:
In December 2011, Lauren (“LoLo”) Scruggs, a 23-year-old fashion journalist, suffered a sudden injury that made headlines around the world. She had been on a short flight to look at Christmas lights and, upon exiting the small plane, was hit by the still-moving propeller blade. A frantic 911 call, several major surgeries, and thousands of prayers later: Lauren lived. But she lost her left hand and left eye. And she had to face some incredibly difficult questions: What kind of future will I have? Where is God in all this pain? Will anyone ever be able to love me now? In Still LoLo, Lauren speaks out for the first time since her accident. She and her family reveal what really happened that night, what Lauren’s life is like today, what got them through their journey toward healing, and how they conquered all odds to persevere as a family. It’s a compelling and fiercely beautiful story of faith, determination, and staying true to who you are—no matter what.
My Review:
Lauren's life was anything but ordinary. She is a wonderful fashion journalist, intern of Gossip Girls fashion dept., and runs here own magazine. After many major surgeries and tons of prayers, Lauren was still alive. But she had suffered brain trauma and lost her left hand and left eye.
