 "If You Were Me and Lived in...France-A Child's Introduction to Culture Around the World" is the second book in Carole P. Roman's remarkable series about countries all over the globe. With each book covering a different nation, Roman opens up a world of wonder while highlighting the fact that underneath it all we are far more alike than we might have imagined. Focusing on what life would be like from a child's viewpoint, she examines the diversity of the people who make up our planet.

My Review:

Carole P. Roman has done it again with If You Were Me And Lived In...France, which is about France and its history. This book tells all about France, from the fun things to do there, to the best foods to eat. I loved how perfectly the Illustrations corresponded with the story. Each and every picture was bright and colorful as the last. On almost every page was a new way for us to pronounce words, as simple as mommy, in French. One thing that I really enjoyed learning about in this book was a very special day in France. French National Day, which just happens to be on July the 14th, which is celebrated with parades and fireworks, commemorating the beginning of the French Revolution. This is the second book in the series A Child's Introduction to Cultures Around the World.

My Review:

Captain No Beard is a spirited tale of  imagination. Alexander and his cousin Hallie are really sweet, delightful children that have a very vivid imagination. In the beginning of the book you can't even tell that this is a story based on a little boys imagination. The Author has done an excellent job of tricking us and getting us to believe in what the main characters are doing and seeing.
Captain No Beard is a fascinating tale were a little boy, Alexander and his first mate, Hallie, have a wild pirate adventure all in the comforts of Alexander's bedroom. Complete with a climbing mast monkey and a loud mouth lion.
This is a very colorful active book full of a child's thoughts and playfulness.

Maroon with nothing to do, they begin to play and enjoy themselves. However, Captain No Beard has other ideas, bossing his crew around and making playtime cheerless for everyone. Soon, Captain No Beard decides he has had enough and storms off. When his ship is attacked by a giant squid, he realizes he needs his crew more than ever. Captain No Beard and his crew show young readers that's it's important to cooperate and share your belongings. The crew teaches us that if you want to have friends, then you must be a friend too.
My Review:

There is never a dull moment aboard the ship the Flying Dragon. Come along and join Alexander the captain and first mate Hallie on another fly by the seat of your pants adventure. Where the entire crew gets marooned on a deserted island.
It doesn't take the crew long to find something to do to keep them busy. But its not long before the fun times are interrupted by Captain No Beard and the fact he starts bossing everyone around. Captain No Beard get very impatient with his crew and decides he doesn't need one after all. But something happens that changes his thoughts on the matter real quick.
The Captain No Beard series is a series of books to teach children valuable life lessons. And the author throws in an extra big helping of adventure and action.
I love the moral of the story because getting bossed around is never going to be fun. This book will help people from young to old with being so bossy to others

My Review:

Strangers On High Seas is the fourth book in the Captain No Beard series. The author has once again written a action packed adventure that is sure to draw the interest of anyone whether its a child or an adult. These are fun little books that could teach us all a thing or two about getting along with others.
This addition to the series welcomes more people on the crew of the Flying Dragon. We see Cabin Girl  Cayla that gets real close to the edge of the ship to admire the dolphins.
It's not long before we are also introduced to Bamabas, the scurvy dog which just happens to be the captain of another ship called Shark Bait which is bearing down on them. And this ship doesn't look very friendly at all. But soon the newest crew member steps up to help her fellow crew members in a tale that is ure to leave you laughing.
I loved how this book ended. I was laughing so hard I was in tears.

Pepper Parrot's Problem with Patience: A Captain No Beard Story Review

My Review:

Ahoy Mateys! It's time to join Captain No Beard and his fast action crew on another captivating adventure on board their ship the Flying Dragon.
In Pepper Parrots Problem with Patience the crew welcomes a new crew member Pepper the parrot. As Captain No Beard gives his crew the order's Pepper decides that he doesn't want to follow the rules.
Pepper has a problem with patience. But this little bird has no worries because this awesome crew of friends join together ti help Pepper with her problem the way only loving friends can.
I love the cute pictures and the fun story. I can only wish I had friends like what Pepper has.
