My Review:

The Author has brought us another exciting adventure. This time deep in the water's of the Bermuda Triangle and everyone knows odd things are known to go on there. Tons of things including ships coming up missing and a few people disappearing too.
The Underwater Pyramid follows Dr. Cliff Post the archeologist , his adopted son Matt, and Kyle Wilson a marine archaeologist, to their discovery of an underwater pyramid in the Bermuda triangle just off the coast of Cuba. They end up finding different things including mummies in water tight coffins, walls with cryptic hieroglyphs and a treasure chest full of different things. As they explore the pyramid they find things, that proves Dr. Post's theory of aliens and the lost city of Atlantis.

I Want To Do Yoga Too Review

 About The Book:

I Want To Do Yoga Too Hallie and her mother go to the yoga studio. Hallie wants to join her mom's yoga class, but she isn't allowed. She complains to the baby-sitter, who gently guides her through four yoga poses. Hallie learns that not only is yoga easy, but fun as well.
My Review:

One Day, Hallie's mom decides to take Hallie along with her to the yoga studio. Hallie is suppose to spend time with Robin, a baby-sitter at the studio.
After Hallie arrives in the play area, she gets upset because she wants to do yoga, too. So Robin decides to show Hallie a few poses without Hallie really knowing what she is doing.
When the visit is over Hallie explains to her mom that she wants to do yoga, too. And that's when Robin informs her, she was doing yoga, too. And little Hallie leaves the studio a very happy girl.

I really enjoyed the adorable pictures, each one helped tell what the book was about. And as a child reads this book they can do poses right along with Hallie. Great, for anyone who does yoga.

Catch The Wind Review

About The Book:
Product Details Catch The Wind is the extraordinary adventure of two young boys who venture into the heartland of gator country in the Mississippi swamplands. Their exciting and perilous journey by raft down the mighty Mississippi River leaves you with only one thought: What will they do next?

My Review:

Catch The Wind is full of adventure from the very beginning. River was headed to his favorite fishing hole when he spotted a boy fighting with the fish on the end of his line. So River rushes over to the boy and starts to help pull the fish up and out of the water. The fish just happens to be the biggest catfish ever seen and the boy turns out to be his new neighbor, William. They do almost everything together, even getting in to trouble. River's grandpa comes to visit and starts telling the boys about a giant gator. This, peaking the boys interests starts them planning to build a home-made raft to take down the Mississippi River.

I have three brothers so I feel like I know what adventure is all about. This story reminds me a lot of my brothers and all the wild crazy things they get into. The author has done an outstanding job of making me feel like I was a part of the story.

The Hidden Chamber in the Great Sphinx Review

The Hidden Chamber in the Great Sphinx

About The Book:
My name is Dr. Cliff Post and I am a modern day explorer and archaeologist. I invite you to join me on an extraordinary adventure to ancient Egypt where we will explore the secrets of The Great Sphinx. Our journey will take us far from home and we'll find trouble along the way. Will we escape? Will the supercomputer be recovered? Read The Hidden Chamber in the Great Sphinx to find out!
My Review:

I love to read anything about the history of Egypt, so I was really excited to hear I was receiving this book. This book follows Dr. Cliff Post and Dr. Khalid Saad on their journey to discovering the hidden chamber in the right paw of the Great Sphinx. Having to leave the woman he is madly in love with behind, Dr. Cliff travels to Egypt and to help get the chamber open. But as they are doing so, Dr. Hosnee Sadat decides it is best to keep other people away from it. After Dr. Cliff and Dr. Khalid get it open, they discover far more than they expected.
I love the adventure of this book. I felt like I was with them every step of the way. When they finally got the chamber open, there was a great spin to what they found.

Back To School Givaway!!!

SKECHERS
So this year is my oldest sons first year in school and like most parents I'm having the jitters and pre-anxiety attacks. My baby is growing up and I want it to slow down instead of speeding up! There is some fun to getting them ready at-least it is fun to me. Shopping for school supplies has always been a favorite thing for me and the best part of School shopping was getting new shoes! The shoes always completed the process and to me was a major part of it all.

     Corporate Overview

A billion-dollar global leader in the lifestyle footwear industry and a high-performance footwear brand, SKECHERS USA, Inc. designs, develops and markets more than 3,000 styles for men, women and children. SKECHERS' success stems from its employees, high-quality, varied product offering, diversified domestic and international distribution channels, and targeted multi-channel marketing.
My boys are just like any other boys their age, Heroes and anything that flashes and makes REALLY loud noises intrigues them. Boys' Hot Lights: Ibex - Humvee Light-Up Shoes. These are the shoes that my oldest son will be wearing to his first school year. My favorite thing about them is the Velcro strap. He hasn't really grasped the concept of tying his shoes just yet and this will also help with preventing the many trips that shoestrings can cause. By the way let's not forget that these bad boys light up! They are definitely made for boys did you see those grips?  Boys' Hot Lights: Damager - Police II Whoa there officer, I wasn't speeding! My little guy really loves these he is constantly walking through the house stomping his feet just so the lights will go off. There are quite a few neat things to these as well! For example the on and off switch (How amazing is that?!) yup! it's located on the strap. The grips are also great on these as well plus the lights are totally awesome! I mean if I could get these in my size i'd probably wear them. Who doesn't want there shoes to look like a patrol car?! There are tons and tons of other great shoes to choose from at Skechers.com but for now i'll stick with just these two. They are all really great and definitely worth the money!   Hey guess what! Skechers is such an amazing company they have offered one our readers a chance to win a child sized pair of shoes!! Just in time for Back To School!

 A Word From Me:
Wow!!! This sounds great!!! I seen this and wised I  had a pair. I know if my brothers were to see this they would want these shoes, too.
Get back to school with Skechers

 About The Book:
If You Were Me and Lived In... Mexico: A Child's Introduction to Cultures Around the World "If You Were Me and Lived in ...Mexico-A Child's Introduction to Cultures Around the World" is the first entry in an exciting new children's series that focuses on learning and appreciating the many cultures that make up our small planet. Perfect for children from Pre-K to age 8, this book is a groundbreaking new experience in elementary education. Interesting facts and colorful illustrations help children realize that although the world is large, people all over the globe are basically the same.
My Review:

If You Were Me And Lived In Mexico is an easy way for anyone to learn more about Mexico and its culture. Created to show kids, about life in Mexico, and this book does just that. From learning about the Palacio de Bella Artes to learning about the Chichen Itza, this book has it all. Did you know that people in Mexico celebrate a holiday called Descubrimiento de América, a day honoring the discovery of America? This book includes illustrations in bright colors of the things to enjoy in Mexico. I think this is a good book for all ages. This is the first book in the series A Child's Introduction to Cultures Around the World.

I loved how the authors words just flowed off the page. She did a wonderful job telling the wonderful things to do in Mexico. I can't wait to read her next book in this series.

If You Were Me and Lived In France Review

If You Were Me and Lived In... France: A Child's Introduction to Cultures Around the World
About The Book:

"If You Were Me and Lived in...France-A Child's Introduction to Culture Around the World" is the second book in Carole P. Roman's remarkable series about countries all over the globe. With each book covering a different nation, Roman opens up a world of wonder while highlighting the fact that underneath it all we are far more alike than we might have imagined. Focusing on what life would be like from a child's viewpoint, she examines the diversity of the people who make up our planet.
My Review:

Carole P. Roman has done it again with If You Were Me And Lived In...France, which is about France and its history. This book tells all about France, from the fun things to do there, to the best foods to eat. I loved how perfectly the Illustrations corresponded with the story. Each and every picture was bright and colorful as the last. On almost every page was a new way for us to pronounce words, as simple as mommy, in French. One thing that I really enjoyed learning about in this book was a very special day in France. French National Day, which just happens to be on July the 14th, which is celebrated with parades and fireworks, commemorating the beginning of the French Revolution. This is the second book in the series A Child's Introduction to Cultures Around the World.

My Review:

Captain No Beard is a spirited tale of  imagination. Alexander and his cousin Hallie are really sweet, delightful children that have a very vivid imagination. In the beginning of the book you can't even tell that this is a story based on a little boys imagination. The Author has done an excellent job of tricking us and getting us to believe in what the main characters are doing and seeing.

Stuck In The Doldrums Review

Stuck in the Doldrums: A Lesson in Sharing- A Captain No Beard Story

About The Book:
When the wind stops blowing, Captain No Beard and his crew, including First Mate Hallie, Linus the Lion, Fribbet the Frog, Mongo the Monkey and Polly the Parrot, are stuck on a desert island. Maroon with nothing to do, they begin to play and enjoy themselves. However, Captain No Beard has other ideas, bossing his crew around and making playtime cheerless for everyone. Soon, Captain No Beard decides he has had enough and storms off. When his ship is attacked by a giant squid, he realizes he needs his crew more than ever. Captain No Beard and his crew show young readers that's it's important to cooperate and share your belongings. The crew teaches us that if you want to have friends, then you must be a friend too.
My Review:

There is never a dull moment aboard the ship the Flying Dragon. Come along and join Alexander the captain and first mate Hallie on another fly by the seat of your pants adventure. Where the entire crew gets marooned on a deserted island.
It doesn't take the crew long to find something to do to keep them busy. But its not long before the fun times are interrupted by Captain No Beard and the fact he starts bossing everyone around. Captain No Beard get very impatient with his crew and decides he doesn't need one after all. But something happens that changes his thoughts on the matter real quick.
The Captain No Beard series is a series of books to teach children valuable life lessons. And the author throws in an extra big helping of adventure and action.
I love the moral of the story because getting bossed around is never going to be fun. This book will help people from young to old with being so bossy to others

Filled with thrilling adventure, this amusing book will teach children the important lessons in their young lives, all while keeping then riveted from the very beginning.
My Review:

Strangers On High Seas is the fourth book in the Captain No Beard series. The author has once again written a action packed adventure that is sure to draw the interest of anyone whether its a child or an adult. These are fun little books that could teach us all a thing or two about getting along with others.
This addition to the series welcomes more people on the crew of the Flying Dragon. We see Cabin Girl  Cayla that gets real close to the edge of the ship to admire the dolphins.
It's not long before we are also introduced to Bamabas, the scurvy dog which just happens to be the captain of another ship called Shark Bait which is bearing down on them. And this ship doesn't look very friendly at all. But soon the newest crew member steps up to help her fellow crew members in a tale that is ure to leave you laughing.
I loved how this book ended. I was laughing so hard I was in tears.

About The Book:
The crew of the Flying Dragon are sailing again. This time, new crewmember, Pepper Parrot is having a hard time keeping up with the drills. Captain No Beard and his mates join together to help Pepper achieve her goals with patience and tolerance.

In Pepper Parrots Problem with Patience the crew welcomes a new crew member Pepper the parrot. As Captain No Beard gives his crew the order's Pepper decides that he doesn't want to follow the rules.

So Long, Insecurity, Teen Edition Review

About The Book:
So Long, Insecurity, Teen Edition is a teen version of the New York Times bestselling adult book, So Long, Insecurity by Beth Moore. This magazine-style book mixes words of wisdom from Moore with pictures, quizzes, surveys, scripture, and more to help girls ages 12-16 live based on God’s truth about them as opposed to the world’s false messages. Features in each chapter include: Q & A with Beth (taken from adult book but written to appeal to a younger audience), Sweet Notes (scriptures that pertain to the chapter’s subject), Your Stats (a survey/poll of what girls think regarding the subject), Interviews with real girls (and a few teen spokespeople), a quiz to help girls gauge where they are, Bible characters with similar issues, and a wrap-up section for discussion with a friend or in a group. Girls will have fun reading about boys, fashion, the media, gifts and skills, competing with other girls, and how they can live as secure girls despite the distractions from the world.
My Review:

So Long, Insecurity, Teen Edition is an interesting magazine-style book with. This book has tons of things that will help your teenage girl with all of insecurities that are in her life. This book includes:
  • Questions you have about real life, answered by Beth Moore
  • Quizzes to find where you stand on fashion, media, boys, and friends
  • Polls where girls like you weigh in on issues of insecurity
  • Interviews with real girls on handling tough situations
  • Stories of women in the Bible who battled insecurity
  • Interviews with girls and teen advocates, including former Victoria’s Secret model Kylie Bisutti, who have gone through the same things you have
  • And much, much more!
My  Thoughts:
Frame filled black and white image of a beautiful teenage girl looking up with a serious expression - stock photoI like taking the quizzes because it helped me learn more about myself. Even though some of them weren't too good. I took the quiz on How well (or not) you handle your interactions with guys and I got this answer: While it's not a good idea too fall all over guys, it's also not healthy to hide out from them. Work at being yourself no matter who is around. Not exactly what I expected.

At the end of each chapter, is a thing called Bible Girls. Which tells about a certain girl from the bible and her story. Each girls story corresponds with the subject in the chapter. Like Esther is the Bible Girl for the chapter 1: fashion and beauty, The Daughters of Zelophehad for chapter 2: media hype, and so on.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It's both fun and full of information. So Long, Insecurity, Teen Edition has both beautiful pictures and helpful info.

What My Mom Thought:

Beth Moore is well known for her awesome ministry whether she is helping women or families. But this book where she reaches out to teens is probably in my opinion, her best yet. I joined my daughter on reviewing this book and I'm glad I did. The mean girls chapter really spoke to me because something like that happened to my daughter.

Mother and teenage daughter outside - stock photo Recently, my daughter had small conflict with a girl that caused a small rift in our family. It was something that shocked us all about this young girl. While my husband and I believe that this young girl was doing this hurtful act towards our daughter because she felt threatened in some way, we were not going to allow ourselves to act on our hurt feelings or our daughter's. Instead we lifted her up in prayer and prayed that whatever this was that was binding this child up and causing her to act out be loosed in the name of Jesus.

Beth Moore gives our teen girls some really good advice. I think ever mother that has a teen daughter should read this book. It will give you some really insightful advice that could possibly help your daughter AND help you as a parent.

The Merry Adventures of Charlie the Choo-Choo Review

Children's Book: The Merry Adventures of Charlie the Choo-Choo

About The Book:
There was once a red and black train that had a rainbow of smoke coming from him and he went by the name Charlie the Choo-Choo.
On this spring morning he had a day off so he decided to travel around. On his way, he met all kind of new friends; some of them are pretty odd and funny...

My Review:
Boy and Mom Reading The Book - stock vector Charlie the Choo-Choo tells of an adventure to many different places and seeing many odd animals. Along the way many animals help him, like a pink crocodile or a parrot with red sunglasses. But unknowingly, Charlie is helping them, too. Whether he was helping a pink crocodile find a great new meal or flying through the sky on a flying turtle, he was having a ball. He made friends along the way, like Toe the sock eating rabbit. This book is fun and cheerful with colorful pictures. I read my little brother this book and he was laughing the whole time. My brother and I both loved how silly this book was.

Nellie's Magic Glasses Review

 Children's Book : Nellie's Magic Glasses

About The Book:
Nellie is a very happy girl… But when she went with her Mom to the eye doctor and he said that she needs to wear glasses, she was not so thrilled about the idea… Until she found out that she has magic glasses…

My Review:
Cute little schoolgirl with a book wearing glasses, isolated over white - stock photoNellie's Magic Glasses is a fun way for children to learn more about glasses, whether they wear glasses or not. This book tells of a nice little girl named Nellie who has to wear glasses. As any child, she is embarrassed to wear them in front of her classmates But her teacher tells her about the amazing thing her glasses can do. After reading this to my little brother, he was amazed that glasses can do that. About an hour later he was still asking me about glasses and what their purpose is.
The Author did a great job telling kids about the great things glasses can do. And not to be worried about what other people think about them because its up to you and how you feel.

Once again, children can learn how life is like for young people on the other side of the globe. From food to famous landmarks, they will learn that's it's easy to find something in common with people in different countries.
My Review:

Third times the charm with Carole P. Roman's book, If You Were Me And Lived In South Korea. I never knew there was so many interesting things to learn about South Korea. I would love to be there on the Lunar New Year, getting to see the hanboks and eating festive foods. It really looks like a fun place!!! I loved the picture of the capital city, Seoul. The picture does a wonderful job showing how Seoul is built on the banks of the Hans River. This is the third book in the series A Child's Introduction to Cultures Around the World. I hope Carole comes out with another book in this series because I love reading these books.

My Review:
Saoirse O’Mara's book Pirates, Pirates! is a brilliant book. Like the author's other books in the series A Rogue's Tale she goes on to tell us about Young Tayla. In the story, Tayla witnesses a beating of one of the sailors that work at the dock. Soon after she gets him help he dies. With only a dead sailor for help, Tayla heads out to learn more of this man and what caused the beating. Will Tayla be able to solve the unkown? Will Tayla be hurt in the process?

About The Author:
Saoirse O’Mara is a German writer, editor, translator and language teacher and currently lives near Berlin, Germany. A Rogue’s Tale isn’t the first fantasy she has written but the first to be published (if you don’t count her children’s book Miro the DragonMiro der Drache in German, or her fairy tale The Enchanted Garden). She loves to write in a nice café with some good coffee, milk shake or hot chocolate (coffee most of the time, really) and maybe a small treat, but she absolutely hates typing page after page into her Word document back home. Still, her writing time at cafés belongs to notebook and pen.
You can find out more about her and her other books at her homepage.
